Ozil wants residence comforts

The Gunners recovered from their opening-day property defeat by West Ham to record a battling 2-1 win at Crystal Palace final weekend.

Liverpool, although, head to north London around the back of successive victories from their very first two matches.

The Reds had been defeated 4-1 in the Emirates Stadium in April, with Arsenal going on to claim third place prior to lifting the FA Cup once more at Wembley.

Ozil, who netted a fine 25-yard free-kick in that encounter, believes Monday evening offers an additional opportunity for the Gunners to show just what they’re capable of.

“I do not forget that we delivered a truly convincing show. Within the very first half we decided the game due to the fact we had a higher amount of concentration and wanted to utilise our possible. We wish to do that once again this time,” Ozil told Arsenal Player.

“We are at residence and we know precisely how we can beat Liverpool; that’s what we want to do on Monday.

“We have been extremely concentrated. The manager gave us tasks around the pitch and we executed them perfectly. That’s what we are going to must do on Monday once again.

“We must think in ourselves as we have the prospective to beat every single team and we’ll show that on Monday.”

Ozil delivered a virtuoso show at Selhurst Park last Sunday, finishing a 98 per cent pass accuracy which integrated setting up Olivier Giroud for the opening goal.

It has been a strong transition for the German playmaker, who became the club-record signing when he joined from Actual Madrid in September 2013.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has been impressed by the progression in the World Cup winner.

“Mesut is now completely committed to the club. Perhaps inside the 1st year he didn’t know a good deal about it. He came from True Madrid and he didn’t understand how extended and no matter whether it would function for him, whether he would enjoy it or not,” Wenger stated.

“I think now he is fully on board, committed and focused around the final results on the club.”
